The Play
1 Tent, 4 Girls was inspired by a camping trip that Rosalie, the writer, went on herself.

It is a firecracker of a comedy which explores the relationships between four young women as they embark on a disastrous camping trip. What better way to avoid the post-graduation anxiety and attempt to push through the hellish throngs of PMS than an impromptu trip to Pembrokeshire in the pouring rain? When counting sheep to go to sleep doesn’t work anymore, the girls grab the Argos tent and go count them in real life fields. It’s a comedy written and acted by women, which isn’t about being a woman. It’s about playfulness and poking fun with a solid dash of chaos, rage and love - the perfect recipe for a storm.

Bristol 2022
The play was first brought to life in 2022, for a New Writing Festival run by the University of Bristol's Spotlights society.
During rehearsals there was a heavy focus on play and improvisation, and the ensemble built on and added to Rosalie's original script. The resulting chaotic and hilarious 20-minute piece showed for one night only, and received a rapturous response from the NWF audience.

Fringe 2023
Following in the footsteps of 100 Seconds to Midnight the previous year, we decided to return to Greenside Infirmary Street with 1 Tent, 4 Girls for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023.

The script underwent a big rewrite to transform it into a 50-minute play, and showed in the Mint Studio for two weeks. With the wonderful news of a complete sell-out two days before the run started, we managed to add some extra matinee slots in the final week - a very busy schedule which the cast absolutely smashed.

London Run 2024
After a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023, 1 Tent, 4 Girls was picked up by New Wimbledon Theatre and programmed for their Studio 'Fresh From The Fringe' Season.

With a new addition to the cast, Cici Hughes playing Sam, the girls packed up their tent again and headed to the Big Smoke. The show was a hit with London audiences, and the girls performed to sell-out crowds during the 4-show run.
